Boadu resigns as Hearts of Oak coach"/>
Because of the team's poor start to the 2022–23 Ghana Premier League season, Hearts of Oak has fired head coach Samuel Boadu.
Boadu took over in the middle of the 2021/22 campaign and won the Ghana Premier League, FA Cup, and Super Cup the same year.
Following their victory over Asante Kotoko in the Presidents Cup in 2022, the team led by the former Medeama manager also won the FA Cup last season.
According to a statement from the club, Boadu is traveling with his assistant Hamza Obeng and goalkeepers' trainer Eric Amponsah.
Accra Hearts of Oak announced on Tuesday that it had "decided to part ways with the entire technical team of the senior team led by Coach Samuel Boadu with immediate effect."
"The Club feels that a new direction is necessary and that the time is now for that new direction, to ensure that its larger objectives are accomplished.
"Samuel Boadu and his assistants made a significant contribution to our history and our memories, which will always be cherished by the Board and management. The club would like to wish them luck in all of their upcoming endeavors.
"Until a permanent head coach is hired, Samuel Nii Noi, the U20 coach, who will be assisted by Benjamin Mensah, will be in charge of the team.
"We want to reassure all of the supporters that the club is taking all necessary measures, including support from our CVCA partners in this effort to restructure the technical team."
