Real Madrid plans to replace Luka Modric with Jude Bellingham in 2023.

Jude Bellingham, despite being only 18 years old, has already proven that he has what it takes to perform at the highest level of European football. His worth has only climbed since he was signed by Borussia Dortmund for €25 million in 2020, and he will make the Bundesliga club a large profit whenever he leaves Signal Iduna Park.

Bellingham is anticipated to remain with Borussia Dortmund until the summer of 2022, which coincides with Real Madrid's plans, since the Spanish club has identified the English youth as a possible replacement for Luka Modric.

Modric is anticipated to sign a one-year contract extension to stay at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu for the 2022/23 season, which has yet to be officially confirmed. After leading Croatia to another World Cup and another season competing for trophies in the Spanish capital, the Croatian is scheduled to retire in the summer of 2023.

According to Defensa Central, Real Madrid believe Bellingham possesses the qualities to replace Modric and the club’s directors have been closely monitoring him ever since his move to Borussia Dortmund.

Real Madrid’s excellent relationship with Borussia Dortmund

Real Madrid is aware that signing Bellingham will be expensive, but they expect to have the cash in place by the summer of 2023. Because he is still such a young player with a contract until 2025, convincing Borussia Dortmund to trade him will be the most difficult element of any move for the midfielder.

Real Madrid is hoping that their strong relationship with Borussia Dortmund would help them beat off other interested parties like as Manchester United and Liverpool. Even though Michael Zorc has left Borussia Dortmund, various other directors have previously been involved in negotiations with the Spanish side.
