'Stop Fooling' - Renowned Broadcaster Blasts GFA For Including This Player In Ghana's 32-Man Squad

The qualification of Ghana for the 2022 FIFA World Cup is what everyone looks up to. It was thus not surprising when Ghana Football Association (GFA) parted ways with former Black Stars Coach, Charles K. Akonnor and brought on board Serbian international, Milovan Rajevac.

There has since then been a provisional list which indicates the 32-man squad for the two games ahead of Ghana. With the team at the 2nd position (with 3 points) in the World Cup Qualifiers group, many are expecting a crop of players who can help the nation to qualify for the World Cup.

Though there is some form of trust by some fans in the new coach to deliver, Ghana's 4th choice goalkeeper, Jojo Wollacott does not seem to meet the expectations of the fans. Many have thus shared their opinions over the selection of the goalkeeper. The agitations are that the goalkeeper plays in the 4th tier of English football and that there is a lot of local players who fit in the same position and hence should be selected.

Renowned broadcaster, Mr. Dan Kwaku Yeboah has also expressed his opinion on the selection of Jojo Wollacott. He argues that former Asante Kotoko goalkeeper, Felix Annan would be a better option with Richard Ofori out of the squad due to injury. He added that, "would Jojo Wollacott be playing in the 4th tier of English football if he was that good?". "We have played over 30 matches in our league and we cannot find any good goalkeeper. It will take a long time before we black stop fooling", he added.

Jojo Wollacott plays for Swindon Town, a club which competes in EFL League Two, the 4th tier of the English football league system. Jojo Wollacott has featured in all of Swindon Town's 9 league games this season.

The Black Stars takes on the Warriors of Zimbabwe on October 9 and October 12 for the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers games. What are your expectations? What do you make of Ghana's 32-man squad? Any additions or deductions?
