No Prosper Ogum, No Africa - Asante Kotoko NCC warns

Asante Kotoko National Chapters Committee Public Relations Officer, Osei Owusu Alexander, has stated that no Prosper Ogum, no Africa competition.

Coach Prosper Ogum has been the topic of discussion this week as it was speculated that he has resigned as head coach of the Porcupine Warriors.

The football philosopher led Kotoko to victory in the recently concluded Ghana Premier League, producing electrifying results.

The club was in a break after the end of the 2021/22 league season, but Kotoko will represent Ghana in the CAF Champions League. Most believed Ogum would be in charge of the club next season, but it is not going as planned.

Osei Owusu, who is the communication director of the NCC, has raised an opinion that the supporters have charged that they need Ogum before they can perform extremely well next season.

"Otumfuo demanded the African cup during the presentation of the League trophy." We cannot go to Africa and perform well if we (Kotoko) don't maintain Prosper Ogum because the appointment of a new coach will be a setback to the team's preparations since time is not on our side, "he told Kumasi-based Akoma FM.

"We are therefore appealing to management and the board to withdraw from participating in African if we are to appoint a new head coach so that he can concentrate on building the team for the local league," he concluded.

The Porcupine Warriors will start their pre-season in two weeks and will hope to prepare well for both Ghana Premier League and Confederation of African Football Champions League.
