Head coach of Ghana Premier league (GPL) returnees Real Tamale United (RTU), Shaibu Ibrahim Tanko has disclosed that as part of plans to strengthen the team ahead of the 2021/2022 league season, the club is in talks with current league champions Hearts of Oak for the service of their attacker, Umar Manaf.
The coach who guided RTU to qualify to the premier league after 8 years of struggle in the Division one league said, he has submitted his ‘wish list’ to management of the club for their perusal.
He further revealed that 24 out of the current 33 players of RTU will be maintained to play in the Ghana Premier League when the new season commences in October 29, 2021.
According to him, management of the club has been duly informed of his williness to capture the signature of 8 experience players who can augment and strengthen his squad to make a mark when the season resumes.
He also confirmed rumor of the club’s interest in signing David Abagna, saying emphatically that, negotiations are yielding positive results and expressed optimism that the player will eventually sign for the pride of the north.
He rallied the support base of the club to consolidate the gains made by the club, by immensely contributing to assist the team in becoming a force to reckon with in the Ghanaian elite league.
