The battle for the 2022 FIFA World Cup slots begin in later this year with countries jostling for points in the various groups.
Africa will this time have five slots with the second round qualifiers expected to start in June 2021.
Ghana have already booked a 9th AFCON qualification in the 2021 edition set for Cameroon next year.
Ghana head coach, Charles Akonnor says attention must now turn to the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
“Don’t forget, before the AFCON, there is a World Cup qualifier.
“The preparations start from today and we will keep working.
“We will believe in the things we do, we will believe in the qualities we have and everything.
“By the end of the day we will all be happy.” Akonnor said.
Ghana has made three consecutive World Cup appearances with the first coming in the 2006 edition in Germany.
The Stars followed it up with the 2010 and the 2014 editions in South and Brazil respectively.
The four time African champions missed out on the 2018 edition in Russia but will want to appear again when the world converge in Qatar in 2022.
Ghana’s best performance at the world stage was a quarter final berth at the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.
