The former PSG boss is yet to record any loss with his new side, Chelsea since taking over from Frank Lampard
The 47-year-old during an interview has recently named several top flight managers he look up to as he majorly pointed out how Pep Guardiola’s Barcelona reign helped shape his managerial career.
“Every time I watch Pep’s match I feel like I learn something new about football,” Tuchel said.
When I speak about these teams I notice a certain style, a certain [attacking] approach,” he continued.
“Like Milan with Sacchi, they scored a lot of goals, they attacked & had the ball & I like it. We try to improve here, that we can score more and still concede nothing.
“When I understood more there was Pep & Barcelona. Who teach me everything about this game. You can play nice & can win everything & still be humble.
“You can attack & still be intense in defending. I have the feeling whenever I watch a Pep team I can learn something new.”
“Before I even understood it
was teams like Louis van Gaal’s Ajax, Johan Cruyff’s Barcelona, teams like Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal.”
Tuchel was remarkably noted out after guiding Mainz to major success during his spell with the club as he now pinpoints how being with the club also helped shape him.
“The head of the academy in Mainz [helped me], I earned all the freedom to try all the stuff, to do errors, to try all the training methods. Then people gave me the keys to the first team
“Hopefully I’m influenced by many more people than those I mention”
“In Stuttgart I met Hermann Badstuber he was a big influence, a 2nd father figure, he taught me how curious you have to be.
“Ralf Rangnick taught me you dont need to follow your striker to the toilet and you can play in the back four [Tuchel’s influences]
