Ghanaian Players Updates -Djiku to Hoffenheim; Afena-Gyan Signs Long-Term Contract (Exclusive)

These are updates on Ghanaian players -both abroad and locally this summer.

Began his career with AS Roma, the Ghanaian striker on the latest reports has committed future at the club by signing a four-year contract through to the summer of June 30th, 2026.

The 19-year-old to recall signed a one-year professional contract from the Under-18 youth level in early 2021 and on Wednesday signed a long-term contract with the Italian outfit.

However, on such a good note, he [Afena-Gyan] might leave the Stadio Olimpico on loan this summer as regular playtime is thought not guaranteed for the upcoming season.

Interested parties are understood to be Serie A duo -Salernitana and Sassuolo.

Following Afena-Gyan's contract extension, it is reported that English outfit Arsenal has handled a Ghanaian player on his first professional contract.

Charles, 17, -who per reports was born in England to Ghanaian parents signed a one-year contract with the Gunners this summer.

In-demand defender in the European purview, Alexander Djiku per reports is set to join Bundesliga side Hoffenheim this summer.

It is reported that his current RC Strasbourg and the German club have reached an agreement for the 27-year-old in the region of €6m in fees.

One-year remaining in his contract at the French capital, Strasbourg might trade the hard-tackling defender for cash this summer instead of losing him for free next summer.
