Nine-Man Ghana team beat Chile on a penalty shoot-out to get Kirin Cup 3rd Place.

K.A.S. Eupen’s goalkeeper Abdul Manaf Nurudeen turned hero of the day for Black Stars as they beat Chile in the ongoing Kirin Cup in Japan on penalties.

Ghana and Chile did not get a goal within the duration period, they had to settle on penalty shootouts to determine the winner of the tie.

Two red cards were shown to Clermont Foot defender Alidu Seidu in the 67th minute and in the 78th the most experienced midfielder Mubarak Wakasu was on the line after a second bookable offence.

At the Panasonic Stadium Suita in Osaka, Abdul Manaf Nurudeen did what was expected of him in the goalpost on Tuesday morning, two penalties were saved by the Aspire Academy product to help Black Stars attain a third-place spot in the competition.

Ghana, on the other hand, scored full marks with Jordan Ayew, Ajax superstar Kudus Mohammed, and Fatawu Issahaku slotted in their penalty kicks to secure a third-place position for the Black Stars of Ghana.

Ghana lost the first game of the competition to host nation Japan by four goals to one, Jordan got the goal for Ghana but was not much satisfactory for a point in the tournament.

Ghanaians are heaping praises on the goalkeeper after a splendid performance this morning, majority of the fans have taken to social media calling for Nurudeen to be included in the squad for the Mundial in Qatar in a few months ahead.
