Two games, one point - Jamaldeen Haruna opens up on Aduana Stars clash

Two time Ghana Premier League holders, Great Olympics have not looked good in their last two matches of the six league games into the 2021/22 season.

The “Dade Boys” brimmed with confidence ahead of their week five clash against West Africa Football Academy in Sogakope having won beaten Legon Cities FC 1-0 in week three and a 3-3 comeback draw to Dreams FC in week four. WAFA however handed Great Olympics a first loss after a 1-0 score line moving into week six against Bechem United who held them to a goalless draw at the Accra Sports Stadium. The “Wonder Club” have a mountainous task in week seven at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park against two time champions, Aduana Stars. Great Olympics captain, Jamaldeen Haruna has opened up to’s Adamu Muftawu on the next clash.

“Mentally I think watching the games, in our last two matches we didn’t really play well, we haven’t got the rhythm. “They say a good team cannot lose points or lose three matches consecutive so that match [against Aduana Stars] we are psyching ourselves psychologically and go and take the points there. “Because they came here [last season] they got a draw, we shared the points. “We are not going there with a draw minded, we are going there to take the three points,” Jamaldeen Haruna told

“I believe in the boys and everyone with their qualities. I believe combining if together with different attitude in our next game I think we will do it. “I think they are mature, we will go, correct our mistakes, mentally we psyche ourselves together as a team then we go and get it.” Jamaldeen Haruna added. He did not hide his confidence when asked about where Great Olympics will finish at the end of the season. He believes in the top four finish and the title could be their for the taking as well.

“[Great] Olympics will finish in top four and of course we can take the league. “This is just the beginning, we have played six matches and six matches out of 17, so we still have a long way to travel. “The first round, second round so we can meet them; it’s the wonder club so we can see Wonders.” Jamaldeen Haruna concluded. Great Olympics now have nine points from six games and sit 7th on the league standing.
