
Former AshantiGold striker, Shafiu Mumuni has a night to forget after scoring an own goal in US Monastir’s 2-2 home draw against CA Bezertin in the Tunisian top flight.
Monastir took the lead with just 11 minute played in the game through Elyes Jelassi.
However with 4 minutes to end the first half, the 25-year-old Shafiu Mumuni mistakenly turned a goal into his own net to set the game at 1-1.
The game went into the break with both sides failing to score any more goals.
Back from the break, the visitors, Bizertin shot themselves into the lead with a goal from Ben Fradj on the 60th minute.
Monastir were dealt a big blow on the 79th minute when Iddris Mhirssi was red carded.
The home side were however undaunted by their numerical disadvantage.
Monastir pulled the equalizer through Elyes Jelassi from the penalty spot on the 85th minute to end the game at 2-2 after full time.
The draw keeps US Monstir in 13th with 2 points after five games.
CA Bizertin are 11th with 4 points after five games as well.
