“There is Good News For Accra Hearts of Oak” - Slavko Matic

Hearts of Oak made light work of city rivals, Accra Lions at the Accra Sports Stadium yesterday.

Gladson Awako’s sublime opener, gave the Phobians the edge over their city rivals in another Accra derby.

Talismanic midfielder, Salifu Ibrahim’s penalty sent Hearts ahead by 2-0 much to the excitement of the sparsely populated fans at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Former Samartex winger, Benjamin Yorke’s third goal in the second half gave the Phobians a 3-1 win with Accra Lions having pulled a goal back at 2-1.

Head coach of Hearts of Oak Slavko Matic has been able to transform the Phobians, having been appointed by the club to take replace the departed Samuel Boadu.

Samuel Boadu guided the Phobians to a domestic treble last two seasons but it remains to be seen if the Serbian trainer can replicate the feat chalked by Samuel Boadu who claimed five trophies in two-and-a-half seasons with the 2000 CAF Champions League winner.
