Afcon draw : Ghana black stars meets Gabon, Morocco and Comoros

Ghana, the four-time African champion, was assigned to Pot Two in the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations draw, which took place on Tuesday, August 2021 at Yaoundé. Egypt, Ivory Coast, Guinea, Burkina Faso, and Mali were the last teams to defeat Ghana in a final.

The official FIFA ranking, in which Ghana presently ranks seventh, is used to divide teams into Pots.

The Black Stars advanced for AFCON 2022 by winning four matches, drawing one, and having lost one in Group C of the Nations Cup qualifiers.

The Black Stars have been drawn in Group C alongside Morocco who were in Pot 1, Gabon and Comoros who will be making their debut in the competition.

Gabon will be competing in the African Cup of Nations for the eighth time, with their most recent involvement coming in the 2017 finals.

Morocco, who will be seeking to make their 18th appearance in the finals, has won 11 of their 11 meetings with the Black Stars.

The competition next year will be historic for Comoros, as they will be contesting in the AFCON tournament for the first time.

Who will dethrone Algeria as the African football champion? Or are the powerful Desert Foxes prepared to continue their winning ways in Cameroon next February?
