Five key reasons that make the Ashanti region the heart beat of Ghana

Ghana is blessed with so many things that specifically attracts the attention of other people from different continents of the globe thus, from Asia to Antartica, South America to Europe and spanning from Australia to North America and to some extent, countries from Africa.


The rich culture background coupled with a peaceful atmosphere and many other factors remains a force to be reckoned with.


Politically, the nation Ghana is demarcated into sixteen different regions namely;

Out of the sixteen regions in Ghana, One of the region that can be said to be the epicenter, the heart beat of Ghana can be said to be the Ashanti Region owing to the following reasons below;


1. The Ashanti Region has one of the greatest Kingdom which is known worldwide aside Queen Elizabeth of Great Britain and some few other Kingdoms of this world

The king sits on a historic golden stool which was commanded to land on the laps of the first Ashanti King Osei Tutu I by the great traditional fetish priest Okomfo Anokye and it signifies unity, oneness, the greatness of the Ashanti Kingdom.

When it comes to football talents and top clubs in the country, Asamoah Gyan, Tony Yeboah, Kwadwo Asamoah etc has proven to be top players.

When it comes to best schools in Ghana and even the region with the highest number of schools its no other region but rather the Ashanti. 4. The Ashanti Region is the largest in terms of population according to Ghana Statistical Service and holds the record of the biggest market in West Africa. The Kejetia Central Market and the Adum Central business centre alone constitutes the biggest market in West Africa.


Almost every goods apart from Human parts is sold in the region. Business goes on smoothly and things are relatively cheaper as compared to Accra and many other regions.


In fact, Kumasi remains the largest business hub in the country.


5. Rich Cultural display and tourism. The Ashanti Region is largely regarded when it come to their rich culture, the region is second to none


The Kumasi Cultural Centre, Manhyia,

Bonwire depicts the regions culture coupled with drumming and dancing. The kind of clothes that is Kente, food, tourist centres like Komfo Anokye Sword Site within the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, Lake Bosomtwe, Barekese Dam, Manhyia Palace, Yaa Asantewaa Museum, the Kumasi Zoo etc depicts the greatness of Ashanti region.


5. The region is the backbone of the country. The Anglo Gold Ashanti formerly Obuasi Goldfields accounts to Ghana's foreign exchange earnings as the region produces Gold and now bauxite in the region in highest quantity than any other part of the country


The region in terms of agricultural activities is doing well with massive crop and animal production which feeds the region and other part of the country with crops such as yam from Ejura, plantain, cocoyam, cassava, oranges, vegetables etc.


The region also produces livestock animals, poultry etc to feed the people in all aspects of life.
