He claimed that Daddy Lumba, also known as his godfather Charles Kwadwo Fosu, was responsible for making everything possible.
Ofori Amponsah stated that, before to this unexpected journey, he had received an offer to visit Germany and wasn't sure how he would cover all of the associated costs, even if he were to be granted a visa, as he didn't have the funds to pay for a plane ticket at the time.
He recalled that Daddy Lumba had just informed him that they were traveling to America for a play after returning from Germany. He informed me that we had received invitations from Americans, thus we needed to visit the Embassy. So I traveled to the United States of America first, not Germany," he admitted.
"However, once we had completed the visa process, they called Lumba to let him know they were planning to purchase an economy ticket for me. However, Lumba insisted he would sit next to me in first class. Therefore, I received a First-class ticket for my first trip to the USA instead of wondering and praying to God for help in procuring a ticket, he told TV XYZ in an interview.
Daddy Lumba introduced Ofori Amponsah to the general public in the late 1990s.
