Did He Travel With The First Lady; The Pillows Are Two: Ghanaians React To President's Recent Travel

Ghanaians were taken by surprise when pictures of an aircraft together with the cost of hiring it for an hour were revealed on social media.

According to the member of parliament for the North Tongu constituency, Hon. Samuel Okedzeto Ablakwa, the president despite the backlash he received from Ghanaians recently, has hired another luxurious jet in his recent trips to UK and Germany.

On a Facebook post, the honorable member of parliament who doubles as the deputy ranking member on parliament's foreign affairs committee made it clear that even though the presidential jet is faultless, president Akuffo Addo decided to hire a private jet instead.

He also disclosed that the jet costs the taxpayer a colossal sum of £14,000 an hour which sum up to ¢3.46million Ghana cedis for the entire trip.

Far from the fact that there are others who see nothing wrong with the action of the first gentleman of the country as far as he is the president of the country and all those travels were done on behalf of the country, a section of Ghanaians has condemned it.

A lot of Ghanaians have reacted to this news in astonishment including social commentator, political analysts, journalists, concerned citizens, civil society organizations and other opinion leaders.

Subsequently, the president has been alleged to have deviated from his promise to be a listening president and to protect the public purse.

However, one of the questions that attracts public attention has to do whether, the president goes on all these trips with the first lady, Mrs Rebecca Akuffo Addo. The president has demonstrated time without number that his wife, the first lady is the apple of hi eyes, as he usually refers to her as "my beautiful Rebecca"

And as the president does not travel alone, he must have been embarking these trips with her. Netizens made emphasis on the two pillows on the pictures instead of one.
