Nicholas Afedi Donkor, a Ghanaian living in France, drove all the way from France to Ghana. He traveled through Spain and over the Mediterranean into Morocco on the approximately 6,000-kilometer expedition. Mauritania, Mali, and Burkina Faso were among the countries he explored.
He began his adventure with the all the essential supplies, including 24 bottles of water, food, and two spare tires. The driver of a black BMW 7-Series drove all the way through difficult terrain and arrived in Ghana in ten days.
He crossed many countries and made several stops along the way before arriving in Ghana. On his arrival, he was greeted by Rockson Ayine Abubakar, the Upper East Regional Minister. "The goal was to increase Ghana's popularity while also making Ghanaians around the world proud".
He claimed in a statement "All I wanted was to tell the universe that such trips are not only available to white people, but that we, as black people, can participate in them as well".
He spent about $2,400 (roughly N1m) on fuel alone according to him which help him make his journey very successful to the end.
