Passengers arriving from Accra, Ho, and Takoradi to Kumasi Airport are stranded, while free traveling available for travellers living the airport to other part of the country all because the security incharge of the airport making sure people items don't get missing, check on luggages and ensure safety, have laid off their took this morning, April 29, 2021 over unpaid salary for the past six months.
The security officers this morning donned in their usual uniform, while they brand it with red, red chanting and looking very furious but refuse to render any service until the management tell them something convincing or else by the closing of the day, they will advise themselves the next line of action.
According to them, over six months now they haven't received salaries meanwhile they have families to take care of, as they petition management on several occasions but nothing has been done about their plea.
The annoying aspect is that, management is suppose to pay them One thousand, there hundred Ghana cedis (Ghc 1,300) as monthly salary but as we speak, they are paid Seven hundred Ghana cedis (Ghc 700) and not all the seven hundred hits their respective account, they only receive Ghc 680.
"This started 3 years ago, we were told that, the Ghc 20 deduction will be use for our uniforms. We can't say nobody has ever given us any uniform, we buy our own dresses" they said.
Sadly, their demonstration has really affect the company working on the expansion project at the airport, which will soon be awarded international status, all because the main gate has been locked up as drivers using tipa trucks to supply chippings are unable to enter.
