Mr. Maadi Jibril, a member of the Communications team of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has labelled the President, Nana Akuffo-Addo as being incentive to the plight of the ordinary Ghanaians for allegedly renting a Private Jet for the second time despite several back lashes from the General Public after renting the first one a couple of weeks ago. He questioned President Akuffo-Addo when Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Member of Parliament (MP) for North Tongu alleged that the President, Nana Akuffo-Addo spent an amount of US$574,000.00 (Ghs3.46 Million Cedis) on another private jet on his recent visit to England and Germany.
In an interview on "Montie FM" yesterday, Mr. Maadi Jabril said, "We will not know the extent of corruption with the NPP until they are voted out. As old as you are, as a President you rent a private jet at the cost of Ghs2.8 Million not bothered about increasing teachers salaries. Contrary to the heavy public outcry you still went ahead to rent another jet, this time not only is it fixed with a Bathroom but also fully fixed with a Cinema. At your age what do you need a Cinema for. Are you going to watch Kumchacha or Esmeralda in the Cinema? Is this the leader who wants to protect the public purse? He questioned.
In a Facebook post, Hon. Samuel Ablakwa alleged that the two trips to the UK and Germany required about 28 hours of travel with each hour costing about $14,000 Dollars, with an additional 13 hours of pick up and drop off time. The taxpayer has been burdened again to the colossal tune of US$574,000.00. At the current exchange rate, that is a staggering Ghs3.46 Million Ghana Cedis,” Ablakwa said in a post on Facebook
