'Nowhere is Safe' - Ghanaians 'react' as an incident of humanitarian catastrophe hits Western Europe
Reports from Western Europe confirmed dozens of countries were severely undermined by a catastrophe of humanitarian proportion. Western media reports say it follows after record rainfalls hit many parts of Western Europe forcing major rivers to burst their banks. Meanwhile, 33 people were reported dead and scores of others injured.
I once asked a friend if he is still living in sin; he replied “oh yes…I moved in there, six years ago and it feels good there”. Then I told him “better move out from there because it will soon start raining blood upon everyone living in sin”.
Ghana is in the raining season and there is rainfall almost every single day in all parts of the country. Some residents in Abuakwa in the Kumasi are stranded as a river which passes through Abuakwa- Canaan has destroyed their main bridge. The bridge is the only easy way to move from the Abuakwa Police station to Canaan and to Abakomadi all in Kumasi.
It is mostly difficult to live in rural communities especially in Ghana. Unlike their urban counterparts, most people living in such places lack basic facilities. It sometimes becomes difficult for them to travel due to the poor nature of their roads. Health facilities and potable drinking water have for many years been identified as the striking challenges they are confronted with.

Following a downpour on Wednesday, June 30th, 2021, certain areas of the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis flooded. The Takoradi to Western-North main route's Apowa St Mary's -Sky Limit road was clogged with vehicular traffic after a five-hour downpour. Many commuters were stuck in traffic for several hours.
Tarkwa senior High School in the Western region of Ghana has been flooded by a heavy downpour in the early hours of Thursday 8th July, 2021. Mr. Isaac Sowah, the assistant headmaster in charge of academics confirmed the incident. He said the school was shocked to witness such incident.
