On Monday, June 15, Constable Emmanuel kobby Osei was shot dead together with an eyewitness, Afua Badu who was also killed by the armed men at Adedenkpo, a suburb of James Town in Accra while transporting money in a bullion van. This incident is said to be the saddest to happen among the police service, the rate of armed robbery in the country is on the rise by 30% the police service needs to be on high alert to end this nightmare.

One week Observation of Policeman shot in Korle-bu bullion van robbery sparks off emotions

A one-week obsevation poster of the late Constable Emmanuel Osei,the policeman shot in the Korle-bu bullion van robbery has rolled up.It will be held on Saturday June 26th,2021 at Fetteh Kakraba his hometown in the Central Region.The details announcing announcing the one-week ceremony was revealed by a poster which popped up online a few days ago.According to the poster,the one-week observance will come off on Saturday June 26,2021 exactly one week from today.It will be held at AME Zion school park,off the Adade road at Fetteh Kakraba.A group of armed men attacked the bullion van which was on a daily collection around Adedenkpo Timber Market near Korle-bu in the James town area of Accra.Emmanuel Osei was the police officer escorting the bullion van,and he was shot by the robbers during the process.Osei died on the spot after he was shot,he was a member of the police SWAT unit.A day after the sad the sad event happened,the IGP,James Oppong Boanuh visited the family of the slain police officer.He was accompanied by a group of armed policemen and he assured the family of bringing the crooks to book.Osei was not the only victim of the incident who died,but also a lady named Afia Badu was shot in the neck during the robbery as the robbers were getting away with the money.Unfortunately,she also could not survive leaving behind her children with her husband.

The Central Regional Police Thursday rounded up 340 suspected criminals in and around the Kasoa township.The suspects, mostly Nigerians included five females, according to the report.Nine of the suspects were found in possession of substances suspected to be Indian hemp [weed].Items retrieved included 245 laptops, 142 assorted mobile phones, and six Nigerian passports.
