Sarah Adwoa Sarfo's appointment as a minister appears to have not been well received by all Ghanaians, particularly the opposition National Democratic Congress, or NDC. President Akufo-Addo stated that the decision was in accordance with the 1992 constitution in a press release on Friday, July 29, 2022.

A coalition of Progressive Forces in Northern Ghana has scheduled a street protest for Wednesday, August 20, to express members' displeasure with what they call the "economic hardship and misgovernance" inflicted on the good people of Ghana by the Akufo-Addo administration. The name of the protest, miisim, is a Dagbani phrase that roughly translates to "We are exhausted."
