Ghana Armed Forces storm three districts in Upper West region
Friday, August 20 2021 Troops from the 48th Engineer Regimen of the Ghana Armed Forces have been deployed to three districts in the Upper West region to help manage the devastating flooding situation in the areas. The role of the millitary will be to create access routes in the Nadowli-Kaleo district, Jirapa district and the Lawra municipality.

U/W: Upper West Minister Hands Over Vehicles to NADMO
The Upper West Regional Minister, Dr. Hafiz Bin Salih has handed over 2 Toyota Hilux Pickup Vehicles to The Regional NADMO Director to boost their Transport System.According to the Minister who is the Chairman of the Regional Disaster Management Committee, he explained that the development is to support organization in attending to emergencies and assignments.

Incidents resulting from the floods that caused severe havoc in the Upper West Region of Ghana a week ago, indicate that a woman of 80 years of age died after her house caved in on her in Wa. The Management of Disaster authorities hints more damages could occur as more rains are expected in the coming days ,amidst concerns about lack of relief items for those affected.

NADMO cautions public against flooding ahead of rainy season
The National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) has advised general society against unpredictable garbage removal in front of the blustery season to stay away from floods.Mr Ahmed Mustapha, the Upper West Regional Director of NADMO, refered to chocked drains and helpless seepage frameworks in the Wa Municipality as a portion of the reasons for floods.
