I Am Still The Speaker, And Not The President - Alban Bagbin Reacts After Being Called Mr. President
There was a bit of of Drama in Parliament after Honorable Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, minister for foreign affairs made a mistake by calling Right Honourable Alban Bagbin, "Mr. President" in Parliament. It all started when one MP stood up and asked the minister to explain or make some clarifications to the house concerning an allegation about a contract between the government and Kennedy Agyapong.
The Minister of Finance Honorable Ken Ofori Ata has been banned from performing his Parliament budget presentation duties until further notice. All his pending motions and presentations to Ghana's house of legislature has been frozen. This was officially orchestrated by the speaker of Parliament Right Honorable Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin.
The covid 19 procedures which were formulated by the government in power helped the people in Ghana a lot and allowed the people to stay safe during the covid season but Ghanaians can't understand how far the government went in spending 2 billion Ghana cedis amidst the procedures. One allegation was that the Speaker had sidelined the Public Affair committee whiles he focuses on his own selected staff to do the official assignments.
