NAGRAT: Mass Failure in Teachers Licensure Exams is Government's Tactic to Reduce Teachers Recruitment

The National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT) after the majority of candidates who sat for the teacher licensure examination failed has described the test as a ploy to reduce teachers recruitment in the public sector. Mr Angel Carbonu, the President of NAGRAT expressing concerns over the mass failure said the government not considering those who could not pass the exams for employment indicates the GTLE is not in the interest of teachers.

NAGRAT President Gives Controversial Interpretation Of Court Ruling On Rastafarian Students

Today, Monday, May 31, 2021 an Accra High Court gave a landmark ruling involving 2 Rastafarian boys who had been admitted admission to Achimota Scholl. Though the two were granted admission, the school insisted that they shave their hair before joining the school. However, in the ruling delivered today, the boys were to admitted into the school without shaving their hair.

Achimota School denied a Rastafarian student who was automatically placed in the school by the Computerized School Selection and Placement System(CSSPS) due to his long natural hair. The School asked the Rastafarian boy to either cut the air or say goodbye to Achimota. The court of public opinion tried to settle the issue on social media but to no avail as the case caused massive stir on social media.
