Appiaste is a town located in the Western of Ghana. Few months ago, a terrible gas explosive occured in Appiatse and it became a national issue where top government officials visit the people there and provided relief. In the early hours of today 2nd May 2022, it was reported from appiatse that, a terrible accident occured of which two persons lost their life's.

The entire country sunk into worry after news of a truck carrying explosives exploded in the heart of a mining town with damages beyond imagination. News of the disaster spread across the country with many lives perishing while others sustained various degrees of injuries in that process. The lives lost included a fifteen  months old baby and other dear ones.
For some time now, the Appiatse community has seen one disaster after the other. The entire community collapsed with about fourteen residents meeting their untimely deaths. Others sustained various degrees of injuries with some still receiving treatments at the hospital. The community is currently in disarray, displaced residents are living in a relief camp with the government taking care of their needs.
It appears the already trouble visited on the residents of Appiatse in the Prestea Huni Valley Municipality of the Western Region has doubled. The western region of Ghana and other areas of the country in the afternoon of Friday April 8, 2022 experienced rainstorm. The rainstorm has so far destroyed several properties in some communities.

One of the major concerns raised by the residents to this fact was that they are unable to have sɛxual intercourse with their partners.

Following the Appiatse incident in Bogoso, I thought some Ghanaians would have learned a great deal from that disaster. My expectations turn out to be void as they have proved me wrong this evening. The Minister for Lands and Natural Resources and Member of Parliament for Damango, Hon Samuel Abu Jinapor has assured that the redevelopment of the Appiatse community is smoothly on course. According to him, a lot of work is being done at the place. He says they had the project in two phases; the first phase has to do with getting a temporary structure for the victims which he says has been done assuring that the people have been settled.
Municipal Chief Executive for Prestea Huni Valley Dr. Isaac Dasmani has given a strong indication that the assembly is working assiduously to ensure that reconstruction of the Appiatse community begins on May 1 as so promised by government. The requisite ground evaluations, he claims, are nearly complete, allowing for the construction of additional structures in the neighborhood.
Following an explosion at Appiatse-Bogoso, a support fund was generated to help the Appiatse community. Meanwhile, since the generation of this support fund, it is as if one group of political elites are financially supporting it. The affected people of the Appiatse Blast have gone through a lot. They lost their homes, property, and loved ones. The psychological health of most of them was traumatizing. In a split second, they lost significantly in life. It is worth indicating that, support groups and the government did tremendously well to speed up aid.

Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Samuel Abu Jinapor, has stated the government is ready to publish reports of the Apiatse disaster if need be According to him, however, it will be more useful to rather publish report of the Health and Safety Committee of Inquiry, which has a broader mandate and whose recommendations are geared towards reformation of the mining sector.
According to an Assemblymember, Mr. Thomas Yaw, there has been a side attraction at the Appiatse relief Camp since the introduction of a newborn baby. According to Mr. Yaw "Ekua Appiatse, is the first child to be born here and there are equally expectant mothers that we are looking forward to them to put to bed in Safety".
Following the explosion at Appiatse, the Appiatse Support Fund was developed to help build the community of Appiatse. In doing this, a website identified as appiatsesupportfund.com was created to improve and track the goals and objectives of the fund. It was also done to attain international aid since the internet makes it possible to do that.
