Barely 48 hours into his reign as Mayor of Tamale, Sule Salifu is already confronted with a major bribery scandal as some Assembly Members of the Tamale Metropolis have openly confessed to receiving monetary enticements before his close-call confirmation on Thursday. The Assembly Members for Warizehi and ADB Electoral Areas disclosed that each of the nearly sixty members of the Tamale Metropolitan Assembly received a cash amount of Ghc 4,000, sewing machines and five street lamps among other goodies as inducement in exchange of giving the nominee a hundred percent endorsement.
The much awaited proposed Guan District is scheduled for inauguration coming Friday, October 8th, 2021. The inauguration ceremony which is going to take place at the proposed District Headquarters at Likpe Mate in the Oti region will kick off at 10:00 am. The Metropolitan Chief Executive, MCE, nominee for the Accra Metropolitan Assembly,(AMA) who is in the person of Madam Elizabeth Kwatsoe Sackey, has been fully confirmed by the Assembly members to become the first female AMA Mayor. Earlier today, all 22 Assembly Members of the North Gonja District of the Savanna Region voted to confirm the renomination of Hon. Eliasu Adam Red Bawa as the District Chief Executive for the area. The Municipal Chief Executive for Lawra Municipality, Mr Martin Bomaba-ire has been Rejected by 21 Assembly Men with a "No" Vote whilst he had 21 "YES" votes. The 42 Assembly men gave him 50% endorsement which is woefully inadequate to qualify him as a confirmed MCE.
Assembly member in Shama District have totally rejected Mr Ebenezer Dadzie, His Excellency Akufo Addo's nominees as the the Chief Executive Officers for the district. After series of consultation with the Assembly members the President's nominee pulled just 12 yes votes, 11 voted No, with 2 rejected ballots.
Assembly Members Give Easy Confirmation to DCE whose Nomination Sparked Violent Protest in Chereponi
Zuweira Mada Nashiru, the woman whose nomination as DCE for Chereponi in the Northeast region sparked violent protest by youth of the New Patriotic Party, a fortnight ago, has been approved by members of the Chereponi District Assembly. With 31 Assembly members present at the October 7 voting, 23 representing 74 percent voted to endorse her nomination as against 8 representing 26 percent who voted against her nomination as Chief Executive for the area.
The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE)-elect for Ga South, Joseph Nyarni Stephen, has been confirmed for a second term. He garnered twenty-eight(28) votes from his Assembly Members which represents 100 percent of ballot cast. After being de lared the MCE elect, Mr. Nyarni addressing the media indicated his resolve to embark on revenue mobilisation in his second tern to help development in the Assembly.
The Ghanaian US based investigative journalist, Kevin Ekow Taylor has jabbed the NDC caucus in parliament again as metropolitan municipal and district chief executives nominees confirmation is ongoing in the country. Kevin Taylor who has insisted that the NDC should change their leadership in parliament has not gone to rest yet as he punches the NDC in another post again.

Cross-section of traders who operate within the Bekwai market in the Bekwai Municipality of the Ashanti Region have allegedly vowed to resist any tax collector who may come forward to demand ghc500 the Municipal Assembly intends to impose on them.
