The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament (MP) for Bawku Central, Mahama Ayariga, is demanding the interdiction of three police officers over their alleged involvement in the killing of one Isshaku Abdulai at Buabula, a suburb of the troubled town. He made the call during a visit to the place.
Three soldiers have been hurt in a firefight with residents of Barbari-Buabula, a suburb of Bawku, as the security crisis of the troubled town enters a more dangerous phase. One person was killed and two others (all of them civilians suffered gunshot wounds) in the incident.
Amadu Hamza, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Bawku, has made a desperate call to the National Security to act robustly and decisively to stop the dangerous security situation from spiraling out of control. He has cast the situation as extremely scary with people brazenly displaying guns and ammo.
