The General Secretary of the Ghana National Association of Teachers, Daniel Opoku has stated that it is illegal for the Western Regional Director of Education to charge teachers in government bungalows to pay 10 percent of their basic salary as rent. Following a letter issued by Felicia Agyeibea Okai, the Western Regional Education Director, and sighted by Bricy Boateng, teachers and members of GES in the region are told to begin paying for occupying in school bungalows from March 2022 and also pay for previous months which had accumulated.
