Distribution of Teachers Laptop Extended to Cover Teachers in the Basic Schools

The distribution of Teachers Laptop has been extended to cover Basic School Teachers, with the extension, all teachers in the country will be assisted to own a laptop for digital literacy. Katon Technologies, the manufacturers of Teacher's Mate1 laptop have distributed over fifty thousand laptops to teachers in the second cycle schools, majority of the teachers are yet to received their laptops.

Ghana Education Service To Monitor Sampled Primary/JHS/SHS Schools In All 16 Regions

The Ghana Education Service in a letter released on 25th November 2021, is set to monitor some 240 sampled schools. According to the letter the management of Ghana Education Service (GES) has approved the conduct of two (2) weeks multi-agency monitoring exercise in 240 Primary, Junior High Schools and Senior High School from 29 November, 2021.

The Curriculum for the basic schools was reviewed by National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NaCCA), basic schools were instructed to use the Common Core Program Curriculum from the beginning of the 2020 academic year. The reviewed is to respond to the national priority of shifting the structure and content of the educational system from merely passing examinations to building character, nurturing values, and raising literate, confident and engaged citizens, with emphasis on science and mathematics as building blocks for success in either tertiary education or early entry in the workplace.
