The Upper East Regional Minister, Stephen Yakubu has confirmed peace has been instituted in Bawku and its neighbouring towns after recent upheavals in the town. “The whole security has improved a lot. Bawku is calm now. People are going about doing their work”, he confirmed in an interview with CNR.
The Ghana Armed Forces have dispelled assertions that one of the five suspects arrested in connection with car snatching in Buipe is a military personnel. The assertion came after footage of the suspects being arrested showed one of them in a military uniform. “We wish to state categorically that the suspect is not a soldier of the Ghana Armed Forces”, a statement from the GAF said.
