Two thieves who stole GHc 1,500 from shop at Assin-Fosu in the Cenreal Region have been sentenced to 18 months imprisonments each by Assin- Fosu District Court. The convict, Evans, 32 and Nicholas Kwadwo Opanka,22, a driver and a sawmill operator were charged with two counts of conspiracy to steal and stealing ,and were pleaded guilty on both counts and prayed the Court for leniency.
An electrical engineer was granted GHS150,000.00 bail with three sureties by an Accra Circuit Court for allegedly defrauding by false pretense. One of the sureties must be a public servant, according to the Court. Professor Nii Odartey Mills, 61, is accused of defrauding under false pretenses, to which he has pleaded not guilty.
