The Akropong Magistrate Court in the Eastern Region has thrown three Fulanis to prison for a period of 60 years each. The accused were found guilty in all three charges against them namely conspiracy to commit crime, armed robbery and murder. During the last sitting two weeks ago, the magistrate Nana Bruce had asked the police to keep the three suspects in cells.

According to Operation Halt, a task force battling Galamsey, 164 people are alleged to have engaged in illegal resource destruction and mining. During a special operation, the military detained the suspects at Anyinam and Mampong in the Eastern Region. The military task force apprehended 164 suspects, including local and foreign nationals from Ghana, Nigeria, Burkina Faso, Niger, Mali, and the Ivory Coast 159 men and 5 women
