Mr. Ernest Arthur, nominated by the President to serve in the position of the Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE) for Cape Coast, has finally been confirmed by the assembly members by a narrow margin of votes. He had twice failed to cross the mandatory two-thirds majority votes.
The presidential appointee to be the MCE for Cape Coast metro, Hon Ernest Arthur was confirmed today after a controversial voting process. This resulted in a fight between assembly members of the area and the police. Hon Arthur after his first nomination was declined by the assembly members after voting.
Ernest Arthur is currently under pressure as the Assembly Men in Cape Coast have rejected him on Two Consecutive times without any sign of pity or mercy. Some of the Assembly men in the area of Cape Coast are of the view that, Ernest Arthur is not doing anything better for the people of Cape Coast hence, they will not approve him aa their new District Chief Executive.
The people of cape Coast finally react to the DCE approval in their District or municipality. Cape Coast North and South have reject Mr Ernest Arthur on Several occasions. This is to show that the people of Cape Coast North have lost interest in their former DCE Ernest Arthur and they are seeking to see the face of a new person as the nominated candidate and not Mr Ernest Arthur.

According to the leader of the group and assembly member of Kakumdo Wesley Girls Electoral, Hon Osman Abbam Egyin, it was rumoured that Hon Arthur had given each of the assembly members GH₵10,000 and they were being insulted for taking the money so as to vote for him.

GPRTU, Transport Union threatens to increase fuel prices by 20% if taxes and levies are not abolished
The Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU) and Private Road Transport Commercial Operators Union have threatened to increase transport fares by 20 percent if government fails to scrub some levies from petroleum products. According to the GPRTU, government has failed to uphold it's promise of ensuring there's no significant increase in fuel prices.
