Attempts by the police to continue holding on to mobile phones seized from dancehall artiste, Charles Nii Armah Mensah, known in showbiz as “Shatta Wale”, and three other persons, Kojo Owusu Kwarteng, Eric Venator and Idriss Yussif, after their arrest to stand court trial for alleged publication of false news, has suffered a setback.
Shatta Wale has been trending in the news for the past three days now for his alleged gunshot. After it went varia that the Dance hall artist has been shot by an unknown gunmen, he came out to clear the air that it was a prank and also a campaign against fake prophet in the country.
The Ghana police service advises the public to desist from publishing false informations that will disturb the peace of the country. This is because, Kojo Owusu Koranteng and Eric Venator spread a news that is circulating on the internet and it is about Charles Nii Armah Mensah being shot by some unknown gun men at East Legon.
The police in the Greater Accra Region have arrested Kojo Owusu Koranteng, also known as Nana Dope and Eric Venator, alias Gangee, for allegedly spreading false information with the intention to cause fear and panic. The arrest of the suspects is in response to the alleged circulation of false claims on the alleged gunshot attack on Shatta Wale.
Dancehall artist, Shatta Wale, has been taken into police custody for his alleged involvement in the creation and circulation of information intended to cause fear and panic. The Musician, known in real life as Charles Nii Armah Mensah turned himself in after hours of manhunt by the police following the Staging of fake gunshot reports.
Shatta Wale is a Ghanaian national Reggae/Dancehall artist who is well known for many hits and popular songs in the country. The Ghana Police arrested Kojo Owusu Koranteng, also known as Nana Dope, and Eric Venator, alias Gangee yesterday for allegedly spreading false information. The Police suspect that these two men did this with the intention to cause fear and panic to the general public and the world at large.
