Literacy, as conveyed by the Basel mission, provided Krobo (Dangme) scholars with the means to publish powerful histories fostering Klo (Dangme ) identity and statehood. (Vail 1989:12-12, Harries :1989: 82-1A). Yet the language they used was not their own but that of their Ga - neighbours. (Azu: 1929a : Odonkor : 1973, Sikapa: 1937). The member of Parliament for Tema West, Honourable Carlos Ahenkorah has be banned by the Tema Traditional council for refusing to respond to their calls.
