Ghana's gold creation dropped 12.1 percent to 4.02 million ounces in 2020 contrasted and 4.57 million ounces in 2019, addressing the greatest fall in 16 years, the Ghana Chamber of Mines said on Friday. Mr Eric Asubonteng, the President of the Ghana Chamber of Mines, said the decrease underway in 2020 was the country's greatest since 2004.

Ghana Chamber of Mines has announced in their Annual General Meeting( AGM) that Ghana has gained a 6% increase in industrial gold production. The report, however, also indicated a 20% decrease in small scale mining in 2019 with 2018 as the base year. The AGM which was a virtual meeting held on Friday with all key stakeholders also indicated that industrial mines produced 2.989million ounces of gold in 2019 as against 2.808million ounces of gold in 2018. On the other hand, the small scale gold sector recorde
