Okyenhene wants illegal miners arrested as GWCL closes the Kyebi treatment plant once again.

The Ghana Water Company Limited has shut down its Kyebi Treatment Plant due to high turbidity caused by unlicensed miners, sometimes known as galamseyers, who continue to pollute the river Birim. The Okyenhene, Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin II, made this known during a courtesy call on him by the Association of Small-Scale Miners.

Management of the Ghana Water Company Limited in the Northern Region has moved to distance itself from one Zakaria Nasara Yakubu, a former staff who worked at the company's substation at Dalun in the Kumbungu District. It is not clear what led to the issuance of the disclaimer or why Yakubu is no longer an employee but the water Distributing Company has in statement warned the public to desist from engaging his services, saying anyone who deals with him do so at his peril.

Water Cut At Western Portion of The Greater Accra Region.

The management of Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) has informed the general public that water delivery to the western portion of the Greater Accra Region would be interrupted from Monday, September 13th, to Friday, September 17th, 2021.
