The Western Regional Minister, Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah has incurred the wrath of some residents of Sekondi-Takoradi, and some Ghanaians for tagging a rather emotionally traumatizing case of 28-year-old Josephine Simson, as ‘fake pregnancy’ thus bastardizing claims of kidnapping by her husband and mother. Provoked by the comments from the Regional Minister, a surgeon and former parliamentary candidate for Essikado-Ketan Constituency on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr. Grace Ayensu Danquah said the remarks were totally insensitive.
It was an emotional moment for the husband and family of Mrs Josephine Simons this afternoon. The nine-month pregnant woman has finally been found days after some bargain with her abductors. The assailants had demanded a ransom for her release and just after honouring their demands, the assailants reported called the husband to inform him that the woman has been released.
The police in Takoradi have confirmed that one Josephine Simons who is nine months pregnant has been kidnapped. The news about the missing pregnant woman hit the airwaves few days ago. She went missing after her usual morning walk on Thursday, 16 September 2021. Detective Superintendent of Police (DSP), Olivia Ewurabena Adeku, the police regional spoke person told Asaase radion in an interview that, the police are still investigating the possible where about of the pregnant lady after receiving complaints from her husband, Michael Simons.
Josephine Simons, who was nine months pregnant, went missing after going for her routine morning walk on Thursday 16 September 2021. After the family and police appealed to all Ghanaians to help them in search for their daughter, Simons has reportedly being found. Speaking on Adom fm, the reporter confirmed the kidnapped woman has been found.
