According to the police, upon reaching a section of the highway at Akyem Asafo, the VIP bus driver encountered another Kia Grandbird bus that was heading towards Kumasi that had undertaken a wrongful overtaking.In an attempt to avoid a head-on collision, the VIP bus veered off the road but the oncoming bus that had undertaken the wrongful overtaking could not anticipate the action of the VIP bus, also veered off the road, and subsequently collided with the VIP bus.

Two persons dead, one seriously injured after an accident on the Accra-Kumasi highway

The Ghana Police Service said in a statement that two individuals were confirmed dead and another is in serious condition in an accident that occurred in the early hours of Saturday at Juaso on the Accra-Kumasi route.
