Mr Jones Abu Alhassan was a veteran sports administrator and Ghana Football Administration (GFA) stalwart in Tamale. The top Ghana football official passed away on 10th August 2021 in Abidjan, Cote D'Ivoire. He went to Cote D'Ivoire to accompany Hasaacas Ladies to the Wafu B Champions League qualifiers before his sad demise.

GFA Impresses on IGP Dampare To Create Special Police Unit for Sports
The Ghana Football Association has appealed to the police administration to establish a dedicated police unit for Sports in order to enhance security especially at football venues. He is a former sports journalist and past Executive Chairman of Dreams F.C., where Ghana Black Stars and Chelsea F.C. player Baba Rahman played.
