Today, the presiding judge of the Cape Coast High Court, Justice Kwesi Boakye has canceled the parliamentary elections in the Assin North constituency in the 2020 parliamentary elections. The Court presided over Justice Kwasi Boakye has ordered for fresh elections to be conducted for the member of Parliament in the constituency.
A Cape Coast High Court had ruled for a fresh parliamentary election to be held in Assin North and until then, Mr James Gyakye Quayson the Member of Parliament cannot hold himself as Member of Parliament for Assin North constituency. The judge, Justice Kwasi Boakye giving the ruling said the MP, James Gyaakye Quayson violated constitutional provisions and other statutory provisions that guided the country's elections.
The Cape Coast High Court presided over by Justice Kwasi Boakye has today Tuesday 28th of July 2021, found Mr. James Gyakye Quayson guilty of holding dual citizenship as member of parliament.
