There is currently heavy security presence at the Northern Regional Police Headquarters in Tamale to prevent any attack from suspected angry youth. This follows an attack on the Lamashegu Divisional Police Station in Tamale on Saturday 25th September 2021 by some irate youth in the area. With suspicion of a possible attack on the Regional Police Headquarters, some armed Police were spotted in front of the Regional Police Headquarters to avert any possible attack.
The action of the youth group who demonstrated yesterday and ended up attacking Lamashegu police station constitutes an insult to all the Nanima they took their petition to. Before the demonstration, the leadership of the youth group sent petition to Nyab Gukpenaa, Dakpema, Lamashegu Naa and other traditional leaders in the North over the brutality of the police officers on civilians who were reported to be stealing electricity.
Some angry youth in the Northern Regional Capital Tamale, today Vanderlise the Lamashegu Divisional Police Station and the Regional office of the Volta River Authority (VRA). The action of the youth comes after a demonstration by the youth in reaction to last Week Police brutality by some Police officers.
Hundreds of youths in Kakpayili in the northern region this morning have chased away the elders of Nyab Guma and Kakpagu Gbanglana, all in the northern region together with the area assembly man, Hon Alhassan A. Mohammed for attempting to sell the only land available for recreational activities in the communities.
The Lamashegu police station in Tamale in the Northern Region has been vandalized by Tamale Youth, yesterday 25th September 2021. According to the aggrieved youth who vandalized properties on Saturday, the protest comes as a result of the frequent heartlessness of the residents by the police officers in the Tamale metropolitan assembly.
Drivers and and motorists plying the Lamashegu roundabout to the Abedi Pele roundabout stetch of road in the Tamale Metropolis are urgently appealing to the Ghana High way Authority and the department of Urban Roads to expedite action and fix the road.The stetch of road for some years now have been deterioting with the continuous patching of potholes which have consistently developed on the road.
Independent candidate Kwame Asiedu Walker has been enskinned as the Gooi zabli Naa of Lamashegu in Tamale at the Northern Region when he paid homage to Lamashegu Naa and Dakpema Naa during his campaign tour to the Region. The chief of Lamashegu, Dadze Abdulai Ziblim-Naa stated that, Kwame Asiedu has come to separate the bout between the two dominant political parties in the country with the number twelve (12) on the ballot paper bringing together number one (1) and number (2) hence his motivation for enskinning
