As part of activities to improve quality of education in the Abuakwa north municipality, the Municipal Education Directorate has organised science and mathematics quiz competition for all the Junior High schools (JHS) within the Municipality.  The Science and maths quiz seeks to promote the study of science and mathematics in basic schools across the area. The program was sponsored by Abuakwa North Member Of Parliament, Hon. Gifty Twum Ampofo who is also the Deputy Minister of Education in charged of TVET.

The Ghana Police Service is offering a reward of GHC 100,000 to anyone who comes forward with information that may help them find the Wa killings' culprits. The police said that their examination of the information they have so far indicates that more than one individual may be involved in this horrible act, and they are determined to do everything it takes

The Ashanti region's Asante Mampong Municipality has recognized a furniture shortage as a threat to high-quality education, along with other infrastructure issues.
