If you will recall, the New Patriotic Party introduced a flagship program called Nation Builders Corps (NABCO). Some unemployed graduate youths in Ghana were to be migrated into permanent jobs after getting 3 years of work experience. Three years down the line, the scheme is ending this October nobody knows the next plan.
Beneficiaries of the NABCO program were assured that they will be retained after their three years service. However, complaints have begun trooping in from these beneficiaries as new people are been recruited and yet no sign of recruitment. Last week, Awal Mohammed, an NPP Communicator, who worked with the Youth Employment Agency joined Johnnie Hughes on his show.
Today, Mohammed Abdul Azeez and Miracle Aboagye joined Johnnie Hughes on TV 3. Today saw a heated debate between the two communicators, both not willing to accept defeat. They were discussing the permanency issue at NABCO. The NDC communicator criticized the NPP for failing to retain the NABCO trainees.
Irrespective of the fact that Ghana's democracy has been faced with so many military regimes, it still remains one of the best in the world owing to the leadership capability it has received over the years. The fourth and current republic alone has groomed two former presidents who rose to become presidents.
In 2018, government announced in its budget a flagship program, NABCO (Nation Builders Corps) first to address the high unemployment rate among the youth in the country and in the same time, help solve various social problems in both private and government sectors and to build the capacity and skills of personnel and trainees in the process.
The Nation Builders Corp’s (NABCO) trainees three (3) years contract with the Government of Ghana is scheduled to end this in this month (October 2021) per their Engagement letter. With that in mind many uncertainties of the future of these NABCO personnels lingers in their minds.
Issues relating to unemployment have become topical because there are huge numbers of the youth who are unemployed. Many graduate from schools expecting to be absorbed into the public sector only to find themselves without a job for years. Government after government have made a myriad of promises and yet they produce very little as compared to the gargantuan promises they made.
I would like to urge potential presidential aspirants to emulate the tenacity, commitment and unwavering love of President Akufo-Addo for Ghana and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) if they truly desire to lead NPP for 2024 general elections. Breaking the 8-year-cycle curse requires Presidential Aspirants who will not quit or undermine the collective efforts of the party, maybe through unjustifiable resignation as result of the inability to get the nod from the delegates of the Party.
The Ghana Education Service is going to recruit about 40,000 personnel both teaching and non teaching staff to fill several vacancies in the various public schools by the end of 2021. The 40,000 people to be recruited will augment the 93,000 staff who have already been recruited since the government assumed office.

Employment has been an issue of major concern in Ghana presently. Graduates of the University and other tertiary institutions are finding it tough to come across employment opportunities. Stakeholders have advised the authorities of the various universities and other tertiary institutions to redesign the educational curriculums in way that would promote and imbibe in the students a certain culture of entrepreneurship.
The current government has come under some criticism for the hardships and challenges people go through on a daily basis despite the many promises by the government to make life better for ordinary citizens. The government argues that the outbreak of the coronavirus has negatively affected the government policies and interventions just like in many other countries.
The Public Relations Officer of the Youth Employment Agency, Mohammed Awal has indicated that the government of Ghana has so far performed well and that is why some banks in the country are chasing customers to come for loans. Mr Mohammed Awal made this assertion when he appeared on TV3 Newday show as a panel member to discuss some topical matters in the country.
It was an interesting spectacle this morning on TV3 when two communicators from the NPP and the NDC met today to discuss some topical matters in the country. As usual, when members of these two major political parties meet, there is bound to be some "fireworks" and "spitting of venom" because they are almost always bound to disagree.
Speaking at a Upper West Regional Annual Delegates Conference held on Sunday, October 3, the General Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr John Boadu has said that the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has contributed absolutely nothing to the socioeconomic development of the country.
...He Must Prepare To Maintain The Enviable, Ambitious Records & Legacies A challenge has been thrown to those nurturing the ambition to succeed the President, Nana Ado Dankwa Akufo-Addo to brace up to maintain the enviable and ambitious records and legacies of the President. It has been established that President Akufo-Addo has set a very tough standard for his successor in January 2025.
The President of the republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has disclosed to Ghanaians that he shall be visiting Ashanti region, the stronghold of the ruling New Patriotic Party from 1st - 4th October, 2011 but Ghanaians have something to share with him. Kwame A Plus, the leader of The People's Project at it again. Social media seems interesting after former president Mahama's Do or die comment. A lot of people have interpreted it in their own way.
