Former Chairman of the People's National Congress (PNC), Bernard Mornah has recently dropped a bombshell and sent a bold statement to President Akuffo-Addo over the tidal waves that is causing devas in the Keta South constituency and its environs. He has angrily indicated that, the failure of Akuffo-Addo to make a presence in the affected area or issue a statement to commiserate the victims is a sign of dishonesty by Akuffo-Addo.

Stop Blaming Akufo-Addo When JM Hasn’t Visited Tidal Waves Victims – NPP Communications Director

Exactly a week ago people in Angola, Ketu South and Keta were hit by a violent tidal wave. This rendered some homeless with homes and properties destroyed. According to estimates over 3000 people have been displaced with others running to other districts. The National Disaster Management team has visited the area and donated some relief items.

Over the weekend the former president, John Mahama was in the Volta Region to donate relief items to tidal waves victims. It can be recalled that a week ago, the districts of Anloga, Ketu South and Keta were hit by tidal wave. The waves displaced about 4000 people and destroyed properties.

14 confirmed dead on Kyekyewere road

The Police and National Disaster Management (NADMO) have confirmed 14 deaths. The Cargo bus heading to Burkina Faso lost control run into two STC buses with the registration numbers: GE 813116 and GT 499720 which caused multiple accidents on the Kyekyewere road. A road leading to Kumasi. The dead ones have been rushed by the police and NADMO to the mortuary. May their gentle souls rest in peace. These accidents are mostly not foreseen and cannot be foretold. It is really sad. A sad day in Ghana and for all Ghanaians

The National Disaster Management has warned the public to refrain from moving through floods

People in general has been advised to abstain from strolling or passing through rising waters as the blustery season tops in Southern Ghana.  "At times, a stretch of running water may appear simple to swim or swim through, however solid flows could undoubtedly clear you off and divert you when you endeavor to swim or swim your way through."  Mr Richard Amo-Yartey, Director for Inspectorate at the Headquarters of the National Disaster Management (NADMO), in a meeting with the Ghana News Agency, likewise forewarned
