The National identification Authority noted that failure to notify the institution of change in personal records such as residents are punishable by law.

There Will Be No IMS From 1st October To 2nd October - NIA Issue Notice

The National Identification Authority has issued new notice regarding the replacement of lost card, updating of personal records and correction of errors from October 1st to October 2nd. According to the statement released by the National Identification Authority, the Identity Management Services (Replacement of lost cards, Updating of personal records and Correction of errors) at the Elwak Sports Stadium on Monday, 1st August 2022 will be shut down and service will resume fully on Tuesday 2nd October, 2022.

The Executive Secretary of the National Identification Authority (NIA), Prof. Kenneth Agyemang Attafuah, has disclosed why some people have still not received their Ghana cards after registration. According to him, over 15.7 million Ghanaians current have received their Ghana cards, Prof. Attafuah said about 15,702,719 cards have been issued whereas some 808,493 cards have been printed but not issued.

Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, the Minister of Communication and Digitalisation has adduced that there will be no additional extension of SIM Card Registration deadline. “According the the Minister, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, “every Ghanaians who are yet to register their SIM Cards must do so before the ongoing process ends on July, 31, 2022.” She said that the Ghana card is the only national identification card that can be used for the SIM registration and over 12 million Ghanaians have linked their Ghana Card to their SIM Cards.

Nana Aba Descends On NIA Over Biometric SIM Registration

Early this year the National Identification Authority introduced a policy where all citizens are to link their Ghana card to SIM cards since then there have been always queue at all the service provider’s office especially MTN. Fast forward, they have given a stipulated time for the exercise to take place but due to the number of people in the country they keep postponing the ending date but recently the date was finalized on 31st of this month which to the NIA it won’t be postpone again.
