The Ghana Education Service has just released a notice to the public concerning teacher licensure examination. In the notice, the Ghana education service wants to bring to the attention of the public that; "The National Teaching Council wishes to bring to the notice of all the 2020/2021 Newly Qualified Teachers that after extensive engagements with the executives of the Teacher Trainees’ Association of Ghana (TTAG), the Council has decided to suspend the Portfolio Assessment for the 2020/2021 batch of NQTs who are about to complete their national service.
Ghana Education Service has put in place several interventions to improve the conditions of service for teachers and educational workers, workers in another sector of the economy have different forms of allowances which amount to half of their salary or more than their salary, teachers have no allowance they receive their raw basic salary at the end of the month.
The National Teaching Council (NTC) has revealed that teachers who will be recruited after 2020/2021 batch will undergo Portfolio Development and Assessment when they are employed into the Ghana Education Service as teachers. In service teachers are however exempted from this assessment. The 2021 edition of the September teacher licensure examination (GTLE) scheduled to be administered on September 23 and 24, 2021 has been postponed, the National Teaching Council (NTC) said in their release that they are sorry for any inconveniences. Reverend John Ntim Fordjour, the Deputy Minister for Education and Assin South Member of Parliament launched this year’s edition of the teacher prize ceremony on behalf of the Minister for Education, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum.

Prospective Candidates for Teacher Lincense Examination to get Access to Question Bank on NTC Portal
I National Teaching Council (NTC) has set up a question bank on their portal for prospective teachers to practice over a thousand sample questions to prepare themselves adequately for the licensure examination, this is as a result of the massive failure rate. The minister of education Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum called on the National Teaching Council, to make available sample questions and past questions on their website to enable prospective candidates to get access to the kind of questions they are expected to write.
The 2021 version of the Ghana Teacher Prize (GTP) will be held in Sunyani, the Capital of the Bono Region, the Registrar of the National Teaching Council (NTC), Dr Christian Addai Poku explained on Monday. NTC's Registrar in a statement intercepted said the scene for the yearly service was settled upon after a meeting with Mrs Ivy Asantewa Owusu, the Bono Regional Director of Education and her group.
