The Former Member of Parliament for Jomoro Constituency and first daughter of Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah, Hon Samia Nkrumah has donated a public washroom facility to the people of Half-Assini. Half-Assini, also known as Awiane is the capital of Jomoro Municipality located in the Western Region part of Ghana.
After the Bank of Ghana (BoG) confirmed that it is getting ready to phase out the GHC1 and GHC2 notes in circulation, Ghanaians have reacted massively to it. According to Bank of Ghana, these notes would be replaced by their respective coin. Peace FM has reported that the Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Dr Ernest Addison said, "Both the GHC1 note and the GHC2 note would eventually be phased out because they are not cost-effective in terms of the printing cost.
