Yesterday marked one of the 2 biggest holidays of the Muslim calendar. It marks the end of 30 days of fasting as Muslims all over the world celebrate the Id-el-Fitr festival. In Ghana because yesterday had been designated as a holiday for workers, the Muslim celebration was moved to today.
The former Emir of Kano and grand Khalifa of Tijanniya in Nigeria, His Highness Muhammad Sanusi II, earlier today paid a courtesy call on the King of the Ashanti Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II at the Manhyia Palace. Sanusi Lamido’s is in the country at the invitation of the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu and took time to visit the Ashanti Region where there is a significant presence of Nigerian Muslim Community.

Hajia Mariama, Mother of the Vice President, Dr. Mahamud Bawumia, has been laid to rest at her hometown of Walewale in the Northeast region. The solemn ceremony saw hundreds of mourners including Ministers of state, Members of Parliament, Religious Leaders, Political party representatives, Chiefs and religious leaders turnout to pay their last respect to the woman whose son has risen to become the second gentleman of the land.
The minister for trade and industry, Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanten has donated some food items to the National Chief Imam, Sheik Dr Osman Sharubutu. Alan Kyeremanten together with some NPP executives visited the Chief Imam at his residence in New Fadama earlier today to present the items. The Member of Parliament for the Tamale North constituency, Mr Alhassan Suhuyini is demanding to know how much money the office of the the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu had contributed towards the construction of the National Mosque. This demand follows a special donation by the Chief Imam towards the construction of the National Cathedral.

Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu was born on 23rd April, 1919 at Accra Cow Lane to Father, Nuhu Sharubutu and mother Hajia Ayishatu Abass he is 102 years and still counting.
Followers of the vice President of the Republic of Ghana, His excellency Dr Mahamadu Bawumia has reacted massively to his mature and heartwarming birthday message he sent to the national chief Imam, His Eminence Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu. In the Facebook post, Dr Mahamadu Bawumia congratulated the national Chief Imam for attaining an 103 years old.
The National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, and Former President, Mr. John Dramani Mahama joined the Kotokoli Chief of Ashaiman, Salifu Osumanu Binyozi to celebrate his 15th coronation anniversary. The celebration which took place in Ashiaman in the Greater Accra Region, was also witnessed by hundreds of people near and far.
The mother of the vice president , Doctor Mahamud Bawumia, Hajia Mariama Bawumia has been laid to rest at Walewale within the North East region. The mortal remains of Bawumia's mother being taken to the cemetery for burial. Hajia Mariama gave up the ghost peacefully on September 13,2021 in Accra.
